The CIRCA Advisory Board consists of researchers from British Columbia and other Canadian Universities who represent a broad array of disciplines related to autism spectrum disorders. The role of the Advisory Board is to provide advice on the direction and activities of the Centre and to foster links and connections with other Centres, programs, and organizations undertaking similar work. The Board works with the CIRCA Director/Co-Director and the Steering Committee to provide input on specific activities and initiatives, on request. Advisory Board members serve for a period of 3 years and may be renewed.

Dr. Smith is the Joan and Jack Craig Chair in Autism Research and Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Psychology at Dalhousie University.

Lonnie Zwaigenbaum, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Zwaigenbaum is the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation Endowed Chair in Autism Research and Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta, and Co-director of the Autism Research Centre at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton, AB. His autism research is in the areas of clinical epidemiology, early detection and diagnosis, longitudinal studies, and genetics.
